Olympique de Marseille boss Rudi Garcia was unhappy his side dropped two points at Saint-Etienne on Friday evening, while his Les Verts counterpart Jean-Louis Gasset praised his team’s spirit.

AS Saint-Etienne 2-2 Olympique de Marseille

Jean-Louis Gasset (Saint-Etienne coach): “It was a bit crazy at the end there as both sides played with four or five attackers in order to try to score the win. This was a good point for us, especially considering Rémy Cabella wasn’t allowed to play and Yann M’Vila fell ill at the hotel, and that we conceded after just four minutes. This was a game we could have lost heavily if we weren’t strong mentally. That’s something I’ll take out of this fixture as the spirit in the team was excellent.”

Rudi Garcia (Marseille coach): “I’m completely unhappy as we dropped two points. We didn’t do much in order to win the match and you can’t win games playing as we did in the second half. We played while walking and that’s not enough for us. We pushed to score the second goal and did so and then fell asleep and stopped moving. We need to roll our sleeves up and play at 100% in every outing. The two goals we conceded were inadmissible and we’re capable of better in every department.”
