Nice step into future with new training complex
OGC Nice have unveiled their new training facility in the south of France, which includes sleeping rooms, in an attempt to step up their chase for long-term Ligue 1 Conforama honours.
Hundreds of guests – including Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice – were invited to take a provisional tour of the complex which includes seven grass football pitches, as well as a large swimming pool, jacuzzi and dining room.
‘Conviction that the club has grown’
“We financed the whole building, an investment of €15.5 million,” OGCN chairman Jean Pierre Rivère told French daily Nice-Matin. “The land belongs to the town hall. When you make such a heavy investment it is money that could be spent in the transfer market, but seeing out this project means having the conviction that the club has really grown.”
Nice are currently tenth in Ligue 1 Conforama, with academy products like Malang Sarr, Vincent Koziello and Yoann Cardinale regularly lining up alongside established international stars like Mario Balotelli and Dante.
