Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar Jr has been named among the contenders for the 2017 Ballon d’Or, his seventh successive nomination for football’s most prestigious award.

The Brazilian’s name was among the first five released by France Football on Monday with 30 players in all set to be nominated. He finished third in 2015 and fifth in the voting last year.

Neymar, who joined PSG in a world record transfer this summer, won the Copa del Rey with former club Barcelona this calendar year, and — ironically — was inspirational in the Catalan giants’ landmark UEFA Champions League Last 16 performance against PSG last season, overturning a 4-0 first-leg deficit to progress to the last eight.
